Every retail professional has, at some point, heard something about the NRF Retail’s Big Show. The event, which reached its 114th edition in 2024, is considered the world's largest agenda on retail trends. It takes place annually in New York, USA, and brings together thousands of participants.
In this edition, our CEO, Marcelo Sardagna, was present and recorded the main insights from NRF 2024. The business mission he participated in also included technical visits to major brands in the sector, such as Louis Vuitton.
Check out what the world's largest retail show can bring in good ideas for your business!
The NRF agenda is extensive. Retail trends that are expected to heat up the market in the coming years can be seen in several ways. In addition to the exhibition floor, which focuses on technology, with players like Apple and Microsoft, there is also an extensive program of lectures featuring renowned names in the segment.
Celebrities, such as Drew Barrymore and basketball player Magic Johnson, also took the stage this year.
But, after all, what should retail managers who want to keep up with global trends not miss? See below!
As our CEO pointed out in this special video about the show, customer focus was one of the most addressed topics at NRF 2024. Companies increasingly need to be attentive not only to consumption trends but to what the consumer truly desires.
Whether it is for creating products or services, or for managing infrastructure, the mandate is to deeply understand who buys from your brand. And thus, create memorable experiences that make this customer return, regardless of the great competition that exists.
With the rise of digital, getting your consumer to the store is a major challenge. In addition to customer focus, NRF highlighted the focus on consumer experience as a crucial point for business. Therefore, it is worth reinforcing services that bring, for example, agility in merchandise replenishment, personalized service, and special environments.
The combination of well-prepared teams, actions for retaining these professionals, motivating work environments, and employee engagement tools was also highlighted. Indeed, people management is a hot topic not only in retail and at NRF but across all business areas.
Technology is undoubtedly the driving force behind retail development. Therefore, tools that boost omnichannel commerce and reduce operational work for greater efficiency are gaining ground. It is worthwhile for managers to be attentive to new developments and solutions that can make their management less bureaucratic and more efficient.
Speaking of technology, artificial intelligence is the epicenter of innovative trends for NRF 2024. Generative AI solutions are expected to expand more and more, forcing retailers to adapt their work models and prepare their teams to maintain productivity.
These are just some of the insights that NRF 2024 provided. Here we showed a bit of our days inside the show. Want to know more about these trends and how Tempo Certo is already connected with them? Contact us!
