Grupo Muffato increases daily delivery volume by 50% with support from Tempo Certo solution

The sixth-largest retail group in the country, with over 49 years of history and more than 19,000 employees, the Muffato Group is investing in innovation to streamline its process for receiving, unloading, and stocking inventory. The company adopted the Tempo Certo solution, which provides for the advance scheduling of receipt routines, pre-checking of invoices, and greater day-to-day control at the docks.


Among the gains is the increased daily volume of deliveries received at the group's "atacarejo" (cash & carry) locations. According to Igor Gonçalves Novais, Supply Manager, the combination of internal optimization and technology resulted in the volume increasing from 80 to 120 daily deliveries, including cars, trailers, and other vehicles.


“Our goal is to reach 180 deliveries per day, and with the Tempo Certo solution, we gained more visibility into the yards' routine. We track everything from scheduling to the arrival, unloading, and departure of each truck, identifying and addressing bottlenecks for greater process efficiency.”


The average delivery time per vehicle, after the system implementation, dropped from five to two hours. “We now have fixed deliveries, in addition to much more efficient pre-scheduling. Upon scheduling, the supplier already sends the product invoice in advance, which can be checked beforehand, eliminating the need to adjust errors while the truck is at the unloading point. This allows us to resolve discrepancies and optimize the entire process,” the executive reinforces.


The Tempo Certo solution is currently used in two cash & carry stores and six distribution centers of the Grupo Muffato, which plans to expand the use of the technology to new locations that will be opened, especially in the state capital of São Paulo. More than a thousand suppliers make deliveries to these sites.


Marcelo Sardagna, CEO of Tempo Certo, explains that the system’s main differentiator is an intuitive dashboard that facilitates decision-making in the retail logistics sector:


“The company gains visibility into its receipt schedule, can address any inconsistency, visualize the particularities of certain suppliers, and also ensure there are no delivery errors through the advance checking of invoices.”


Novais emphasizes that the choice of the solution occurred primarily because it can be configured according to the specifics of the business:
